Biography
I am a lecturer of environmental design of buildings at Dundee School of Architecture in Scotland. I earned my BSc in architecture engineering from Ain Shames University in Cairo, Egypt in 1997. I finished a post graduate diploma in green architecture from the same university in 1998. I got my MSc in environmental design of buildings from the Welsh School of Architecture in 2001 where I was taught by some of the leading figures in the area of environmental design of buildings in the UK such as Professor Phil Jones and Professor Dean Hawkes. He completed his research thesis under the supervision of Ecotect developer Dr. Andrew Marsh. I moved to Sheffield Hallam School of environment and society as a part time assistant lecture. I then moved to Dundee in 2004 as a full time lecturer teaching and researching environmental design of buildings. Dundee School of Architecture offers an integrated M.Arch degree pathway that is professionally recognised through Prescription of Qualification by the Architects Registration Board (ARB). My work focuses on environmental sustainability of buildings and the intelligence of traditional architecture. I have work published in international journals such as the Intelligent Buildings International and the International Journal of Ventilation.
